It's Hard To Ask For Help

Since starting social media as a business owner I have learned about algorithms, SEO and marketing yourself. I think the most challenging part is explaining to friends and family what you need. I have always had a hard time asking for help, so social media marketing is a mental struggle. It's hard enough putting yourself out there and then to go ask someone to share your posts, subscribe and comment on something feels so scary.

I'm sure others feel this way too. You want to do business in an authentic way and not spam your friends with requests. Especially when you know they have their own lives. I haven't personally done a lot of this so I guess this is my way of easing into the topic with everyone.

Fully Putting Yourself Out There

I think fully putting yourself out there and committing to something is so rewarding. I have tried a lot of things over the past few years leading up to my art accounts. Acquiring many skills to be able to pursue something I love as a living. I never imagined my love of art would be in the public eye but here I am. Just being myself and putting it all out there. I feel like your true friends and family will see that if you stay true to who you are. Asking for support from those true friends should be easy in that sense. Not so easy mentally for you but easy for them to say yes and dive in to help you succeed.

If your a friend of mine or of another artist. Here are 5 ways to support me/them for free.

  1. Share their work: Share the artist's work on social media, blogs, or websites. This helps to increase their exposure and reach a wider audience.
  2. Follow them: Follow the artist on social media and other platforms to stay updated on their latest projects and events.
  3. Leave positive reviews: Leave positive reviews on the artist's social media pages or on websites where their work is sold. This helps to boost their visibility and credibility.
  4. Engage with their content: Like, comment, and share the artist's social media posts or other content. This helps to increase engagement and boost their online presence.
  5. Attend their events: Attend events hosted by the artist, such as online live streams or exhibitions. Numbers count for live streams on a lot of platforms and helps the algorithm push out the stream to more viewers.

If you're struggling to find support here's a blog post I wrote on following your passion even when others don't see the value.
